Think about what i wrote. In this kind of poll most voted and 1st place mathematically means more 100 and positives votes than the other songs, and this plus the 1st place is what this masterpiece truly diserve.
But i have a critic the method itself because u can put 1 to rise your song, band, etc but affect others bands.
The system should only left u put a vote no numerical to what do u like only. This way we'll known the true songs, bands and albums that poeople prefer in a real order. If u like u could choose between +1 and +2 for each thing. That's a good system.

Hello, everybody. I'll say a few things:
STH is the best song ever, and reasons are well known, there's no doubt. I dont say anything unreal, STH is 1st now and stayed in 1st position almost all the time since this web open, also in most of the polls(the true ones).
But second, i'll say that more than 4500 votes make this song even more special and important. Perram, if u have a little of maths is easy to understand that this isnt half-half because (and considering most votes are extremes 1 or 100) then the media should be around 50,5 .
So it's clear that most people voted positive (100 mayority case) because if were the contrary should be less than 50. (*)

Well i'm not here to rip on the band nor the song but i will say i don't believe all the hype was worth the wait i endured before hearing this

Having said that there are vast numbers of inferior songs but (in my opinion - and remember everyone is entitled to one) there are a handful more popular

Doesn't mean they are better but have had a bigger impact

Anyway one more thing to point out which should be glaringly obvious is that this site can't be taken too seriously as there is Michael Jackson on the list - is he rock? - i don't think so

Plus with enough support almost anyone can become #1 (or be dropped into nothing)

first of all, stariway is the perfect song for any situation, but who ever said that bonham is the best drummer is obviously on crack. No ONE can even come close to neil peart of Rush, who by the way, Geddy Lee could probably hit notes just as high as robert plant. And as far reffering to highway to hell in a derragatory way, you can suck my balls. Regardless of all that stairway is still a great song.

I have listened to the entire song. I've heard that bit at the end. I have played this song over and over, honestly trying to comprehend WHY EXACTLY people think it's great. It is 100 most definitely NOT GREAT. It's average at best, and terrible and boring at worst.

Led Zeppelin has produced songs 10x the song this is, as have almost every other rock band in existence.

the first time i heard this song was at the beginning of this year. after that, i said 'up yours!' to hip hop and all that modern rubbish, and became hooked on classic rock. ever since then, i have tried to compile a list of all the best songs ever made. and i tell you, as far as rock songs go, this would have to be one of the equal greatest. there can be no 'best song', it all depends on personal choice, and mood. but no matter what your music taste, most people would agree that this is a very good song, some might say the best. to me, this song is like an orgasm, slowly building up into a climax, then an anti climax. so yeah....

Pople like Tomoose can screw themselves. Stariway to Heaven is the perfect song. It combines the best vocalist in the business with a legendary guitar solo from the best guitarist ever. Not to mention that John Bonham (God of the Drums, rest in peace), while not at his best in this song (see Trampled Underfoot, The Crunge, more..) is the best drummer who ever lived, and JPJ throws in some kickass recorder. Plus, he was an excellent bassist. Suck on that, Zeppelin haters.

Yeah yeah this song is great BUT IMO tangerine and the rain song and ten years gone are much more moving and the lyrics make sense, very emotional. Even All my Love when plant is singing about his 5 year old son who died of a stomach infection.
