As a kid, I always thought the "spacey" part of the song (say 2/3 throguh) was down with effects. That until I saw it on You Tube. Page extracts some incredible sounds with a violin bow and his Les Paul.

Absolutely incredible song, and my second favorite Zep tune behind "When the Levee Breaks"

I love this song. It doesnt even sound like Led Zep, but rather sounds like Black Sabbath. So heavy. Love the bashing cymbals, Plant's moaning, Page's excellent solo... its a mind melding mixture of music and greatness.
